Default PA Opener Question

I know the PA opener is November 26, a little less than 2 weeks away. My question for anyone out there is this.

Do you think the rut will be over by this point?
What type of scents, if any would you use?
What kind of calls would you use?

Just curious about what works for others...

No!

Cover Scent

What kind of calls would you use?
I'll have my calls as a last resort but will only use them if I see something and want to try and draw them in. Otherwise I'm of the opinion when they are pressured it's better to be in stealth mode and try to go undetected.

If ur a hunter in PA u know that rifle season success is based on pressure along with where these deer go when pressured, whitetail is right on what he said, cover scent and barely anything else store boughtis needed, just knowledge and some hunting land, private is preferred so u dont end up running into more hunters than deer but with 5 billion hunters in the great state of PA it isnt an easy thing to do, best of luck my friend

gimicks doesn't harvest deer in Pennsylvania - a Remington Gamemaster does!

Buy yourself a Ted Nugent Cd and get a pick up truck with power windows.

All that crap you see on tv about how they lure deer in with pee and calls is a bunch of hooey.

I have hunted for 30 years now and I can tell you that I never been in the woods on opening day were the bucks were grunting or the does in heat.

Little bucks hang with the does and the big bucks hang in bachelor groups.

Your best bet is to go someplace where there are lot's of hunters and let them push the deer into you.

Private land might be nice - if you think that you can sit for hours on end without seeing a deer. But the action is someplace where the people move the deer around.

I like to see deer.

If I can't see them in the woods, I will not turn down a 10 point buck out the window on the way home! Ted Nugent music is better than Tink's 69 - when it comes to attracting deer!

Well 1st I never really hunt from a stand unless I'm doing archery but a stand does help somewhat. I also do alot of scouting and look for rubs and do it at least 3 times before the hunt and like I said look for rubs, lays, tracks, and if needed spend a day there and observe. Plus, do you have 1 of scout cams for hunting they're the best.
