food plot

Clover is very good in some areas. It very much depends on the surounding food sources though. If you have good crops around you and your clover is best at the same time those crops are best you will compete for deer. In WI we plant some beans later in the year and pray for rain. If it takes we have the only green crops well into the fall while the other crops are dry and harvested.Working your way back from the time you want to hunt is a good way to find plants that will mature and be best to eat for the deer.
If you don't have water it is also a #1 draw for deer. A small pond with some peas or beans thown around it can be a huge deer magnet.
