Default Taking my brother for first deer hunt

Hi guys. I have a question for you. I will be taking my little brother for his first rifle youth hunt this weekend. We have been shooting his .243 regularly and he is comfortable shooting and grouping great. We are hunting our farm which consists of 50:50 fields to woods. I scout our area well and know where the deer are traveling. The question I have for you is should we set up in a field stand or a wood stand?I am confident we will see deer both places, but I want him to have the most enjoyable hunt possible. I was thinking woods in the morning and fields in the evening. What is your advice?

Thanks

I would say depending on his ability to stay focused.I know when we take my nephews out age 10 and 7 we try to be where the most action will take place. This year we have ground blinds so they can move around a bit.
Good luck to you and little Bro!

i would stick to your idea! woods in the morning, then by noon he might be getting antzy, so walking to another stand might be what he needs to get ready to sit still for another couple hours! I dont know how thick your woods are or anything, but shooting in that area you just have to make sure he is aware of any braches, or limbs that may be obstructing his shot! good luck to you both
