Default difference between a scrape and rub

I am a new hunter and trying to learn things on my own. I have a new spot to hunt and found signs like: tree bark rubbed from a couple of trees and near that area, spots on ground below low lying branches with the ground that was scraped at. The signs are fresh and I want to know if it is to early to see those signs and if someone is making those marks. I hunt in NC and there are plenty of deer in this area. help

Yep it is happenning in NC. I found a scrape today that wasn't there Monday. Found plenty of rubs too. I put out some 3.5 yr subordinate buck urine out in one spot dang if the next day there wasn't a rub right there. I got him on trail cam too.

not to early for those signs...about the middle of september there will be some start of these signs and as the season goes on there will be more and more, within the next week or two you should see a great increase of these signs. sometimes scrapes rubs and licking branches are used all year round and not only by bucks but does also..

Its that time of year when the bucks are marking there turf and putting out there no trespassing signs. Basicly it there core area, when you find it now.
