Wooden deer feeder plans......ideas?

I made a few 6" PVC gravity feeders. Just pop a 90 degree elbow on it and strap it to a tree, covering the top with a plastic bucket from the dollar store. A 5 or so foot piece holds about 50 pounds or more.

We don't hunt over them, but we keep a couple of those pvc pipe type that Kevin described, with the Y union on the bottom, for years like this one where there won't be enough acorns or other feed to get them through the winter. Takes about 5 minutes to assemble, and they work well. Don't make the mistake of substituting a threaded cap for the top. They may look waterproof, but they're not. I have one like that, but I just hang a coffee can over the top to exclude water.
