Default what kind of food plot??

i have a hunting spot i want to plant a couple food plots on about 1/4 acres the land is about 550 acres of cut overs and grew up fields and i need something to attract the deer to my stand. what are some good stuff to plant that is cheap and deer go crazy for.

As for inexpensive, you can't go wrong with alphafa or clover.

Many questions would have to be answered first. Are you speaking of a plot that will be planted soon as used as a Fall hunting plot? Do you have the areas already cleared? Have you taken a soil sample to see what amount of lime and fertilizer you'll need to assure that the soil will not bind it's nutrients? All this is critical in developing a successful plot.

Also, this would probably gather more feedback if placed in the Whitetail Management forums below.

i want something to plant for this season i will probly plant white clover if it will have time to come up befor season

A lot depends on what state you livein and the growing season,a good late Fall crop would be Winter Wheat,late July and early August is a good time for planting turnip and raddishes and they are a cheap and easy crop to grow.

I,ve heard the same thing about turnips . Do they really go for them ?
