Mine was the Army, learned on the M-16. Then had to relearn on the M-21. the things that work with a m-16 do not work on other rifles. One that got me was puting your nose up to the charging handle on the m-16. When I put my nose up to the reciever of the M-21 it hit my nose hard learned quick not to do that.

My Dad(rest in peace)the non hunter taught me to shoot back in 67....a H&R from Gambles.He got it with green stamps if any of you remember when......

The Marines. BRASS - Breathe (exhale), Relax (eye closed), Aim (open eye), and Slowly Squeeze. It's all one function for a one shot/one kill.

grandpa, dad and uncle. all 3 made me a better shooter and hunter

my dad taught me with a bb gun then my uncle taught me how to shoot a shot gun but its good to hear your taking your dad on an elk hunt good luck

My father didn't hunt but did purchase me my first 22 at 12 yrs.old. I am pretty much self taught got as many books as I could read up and now I is a shooter May be the only books i read in gradeschool

Mostly self taught, though a friend and I would shoot bb guns alot growing up. Then his farther would take us up to his garden area that had apple trees and let us use a 22 to go shoot squirrels with.
