Default Is this poaching in Kansas??

I have heard talk on here from some members about having more than one buck permit for hunting in Kansas. Kansas is a 1 buck per year per person state no matter what the situation according to the KDWP. With all the talk about poaching lately, this got me wondering if it was considered poaching if you had a permit transfered to you or given to you after you already had your one buck permit be it a rifle of statewide archery. Just curious, and not pointing any fingers.

Okie,

This sounds like a loop hole to me or a technicality issue. If I take a buck and use my tag, and you offer me yours because you will be unable to hunt and I take another deer with your tag it would seem to be acceptible?

You gave your tag up and a deer that you would have more than likely taken was taken by me, again by using your alloted tag.

As far as calling it poaching, I am unsure.

KEEP HUNTING THE GREAT OUTDOORS & GOD ALIVE, PASS IT ON!

looks to me according to the KDWP that its 1 buck per person no matter how many tags you have. unless there's a another law that sets different perameters for different situations, then i would say ya better not use the second tag or johnny law my come knocking at your door. <img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle>

Yes, this is considered poaching. I called the KDWP about it, I asked if my fiance were to buy an either sex whitetail (buck tag-rifle) and I were to buy an either sex archery whitetail and take both animals myself if it would be legal. They said even though a lot of people do it, and there isn't usually a lot of large reprecussions for doing so, they'll still at least make you spend the night in jail and confiscate everything you have on you, truck included, you just might avoid the other penalties of poaching. The regs say No hunter may harvest more than one whitetail with visible antler protruding from the skull, or something to that effect, so no matter what, only one buck can fall by your hand. Despite the fact that whether I shoot or she does, the buck still gets legally tagged is irrelevant, it's illegal to kill more than one buck per year per hunter.

Screw the 10 ring, keep them in the zero!!!

I don't know about Kansas but, In Oklahoma it's called party hunting and it's against the law.

It is possible to get more than one tag in Oregon but if your name is not on the tag it is illegal for you to use it . As mod 70 sid party hunting is poaching as far as the game dept.is concerned .

A fe years ago my aunt asked me to come visit and help ona few things on her property by Ft Riley. She suggested that I might get some deer hunting in, as there were so many around there.

What the hay, got hold of a tag, and then found out I could get two over the counter doe tags cheap also. So ended with three does in my truck coming back to CO after a week stay there.

The next year paid out the money for a buck draw, got it, bought two doe tags, came back with ONE doe, got me three trespassers on that section and helped catch one night hunter. Made three frinds inthe law enforcement community and saw to it that my aunt's place got a bit more protection then it had before. That paid off a few months later when her quiet country house was almost robbed while she was at home. Thats another story.

Anyway, in SOMe parts of KS you can get upwards of three tags that I know of.
