100% wool mittens with the fold back ends. If you wear gloves made of dense material such as cow hid outers when they get cold they stay cold the rest of the day and you never get them warm again. With wool when your hands get cold it is possible to just put them in your pockets or one of those tube thingys you wear around your waste (totally blank on the correct term)with a hand warmer in it and you can warm your hands and the wool mittens up again.

Either the U.S. Military cold weather mittscanvas and buckskin outers with wool linings with the trigger finger you can easily slip it in and out to stay warm and get ready for a shot. Or the fold back gromit rag wool knit mitts with Thinsulate lining sewn inside. I find both keep my fingers warm. And if you're walking/stalking the blood flow help.
Keeping warm core temp. is just even more important than warm feet and hands. If your core drops even a few degrees below normal your body will protect your internal organs and brain by restricting blood to your extremities. I like cold weather, but I like even more staying toasty warm in the cold!
