The blog is still there, just takes a minute to come up.

I imagine it is getting a lot of traffic right now.

Everyone has a right to their opinion, and if your in the spot light. You'd better be very careful how you want yours perceived.

Outdoor Life has decided to shut down Jim Zumbo's blog for the time being. Too much negative feed back and Outdoor Life is trying to distance it publication from him.

Maybe they'll stop showing his TV show too. Then I'll be satisfied.

The gist of it was that he did not think hunters should use or posses AR's or AK's, much less use them for hunting. He basically said they were a terrorist weapon and hunters should only use "sporting" guns, not "assault" rifles when hunting, because the "assault" rifles made us look like terrorists.

While don't like Zumbo much, I tend to agree with him on this.

Some of his language was a little harsh, but generally - when I pass down the tradition of hunting to my son, I'm not holding up an AK-47 as the ideal firearm - nor will most of you.I don't think he said anythingthat most ofus hunters don't already agree with.

I read his statement - and I don't think he said that they should be banned or anything. I also remember him saying that it was HIS opinion that hunting should be done with a "fine sporting firemarm", and that he does not want the general non-hunting public to EVER associate hunters' firearms of choice - with arms used by criminals or "terrorists" as he said.

Basically that was what he said - and while I don't think there should be any ban on any firearms - you won't ever see me hunting with an Uzi.

If that is what he said, then I tend to agree with him. Lot of difference in an assault rifle and a hunting rifle in most cases.

Sign me up for the Jim Zumbo fan club. Good man making a normal observation, IMO.
