Default 1950's era Savage Autoloader

Hello All,
I have my father-in-law's 1950's era savage 12 ga autoloader. Model 755A, it has a machined modified barrel, 2-3/4 chamber.
The question is could I send a slug down this barrel without it blowing up or being damaging?

Thanks

Yep, modified will work with a slug. Just make sure it is a rifled or foster style slug. The fins on them are designed to crush as they go through the choke.
