What is the best bullet to use in a mrlin 30/30 gun for deer

Try the new Hornady Lever Revolution.

for the average application that a 30-30 is generally used for you will be hard pressed to find a better combo than the 150 or 170gr Remington Core Lokts.

check out this thread. 220 yards with the new hornady loads...They got my vote. You wont see that with the older loads

Most people that carry a 30-30 will never see a 220yrd opportunity.
If you your out on the plains look into the lever revolution, if your hunting the bush the core lokts are fine.

I have shot Winchester and Federal loads in my Marlin 30-30 over the last few years, and both are adequate loads According to many reports here and on other sites, CoreLoks are adequate as well, but since the question at hand is the "best", the Hornady LeverEvolutions are hands down the best in my (and many others) book. I have absolutely no interest in shooting 200 yards AT a deer with a 30-30. I killed 4 deer and 3 hogs with LeverEvs this season and won't go back to ANY other brand or bullet.
