Default Sheds?

Maybe early to ask this but I figured I would before I forgot about it. When do deer lose there antlers? Are there any places in particular I should look for them like rub lines or in fields? I read that good days to look are after it rains because it soften them up is this true? I'd like to find some sheds just to see what kind of bucks are still running around out here.

Post Season is the best time to search for sheds. (January and Feburary). Foliage is gone and everything is bare. Ideal spots to look for sheds are entrance/exit areas from the bucks bedding location. Rain does soften antlers.

Here in the deep south most deer lose thier antlers around march-may. Bucks for some reason like to find very thick areas to drop thier antlers at. My favorite and most productive place to look is in low thick pines.
