RE: Mass or Spread
Nowadays, I'm hoping for a good heavy but high and narrow rack for mounting. I 've got ones with spread but have seen a couple shaped like your Canada buck and to me it just looks like what a buck should look like in the thick here where I hunt. Many of our deer here have those high racks with not much spread, I just hav'nt connected with one that I want to mount yet.
It still amazes me that a buck with a lot of spread can manuver so well in these tangles we have here. |

My vote for mass. More mass means bigger deer right?

RE: Mass or Spread
Id rathyer kill a heavy, 10 inch wide low pointed buck, than a 12 with thin horns with spread.
