You won't be finding that deer, like others have said, you grazed him. From the hair/blood you foundI would say belly.

did you see any other matter that looks like intestines, guts etc.. i tracked one one time that a friend shot like that and it opened up the stomach enough that the guts started falling out and he was draging them it finally laid down and died, it took about a mile though...

I would listen to what Wilk said. If you grazed the belly it could be dragging it's insides all over the woods. You should at least go back and make your best effort at finding the deer or finishing the job. I tracked two this year with a sparce to nonexistant blood trail this year and found them both. One went over 300 yards. Good luck with your search.

the one who said i coulda caught the lung was right... i foundit today....the 300 win mag rippedit apart right wherethe belly starts bythe front shoulder. the woundwas 2 inch wide and went across the whole underbody.....i foundit very close to where i leftoff last night

That was me dollar... I said what i said because i just got my deer last monday and i hit it in a very simlar fashion as to what you explained.. Glad you found it.. Now remember next time you see that type of blood, its a lung hit.. BTW how was ur deer? Was it a buck? How big?
