another successful year for me this one scored 150 2/ 8 i wanted it to be bigger than last years but last years scored 155 3/8 it was opening day of the 2006 gun deer season we hunt in waupaca county wisconsin so we have to use a shotgun i was using a remington 870 express mag with a rifled barrel but its olny a 20 guage some people say that a 20 is too small i dont think so it works just as good as a 12, but anyway it was barely shooting time and i heard something behind so i turned around slow and it wasnt a deer it was a fox, it walked right in front of 15 feet away, i thought this is going to be a pretty good morning we are in earn a buck so the first nice doe that i saw that morning i shot, i got my buck tag and went back to camp and got some breakfast, after breakfast my dad were wasting valuable time in the woods, and he was right i saw a bunch of does and small basket racks, but i was waiting for the big one, it was about 11:29 before lunch and i saw something come out of the riverbottom about 350 yards away, got the binoculars to see what it was it was a very nice rack but i couldnt tell until it got alot closer, it wasnt mavong very fast it would stop and eat in the cornfield every few steps it took him a good 15 minutes to work his way up to me i was standing up as soon as i saw him come out the riverbottom so i had the scope on him the hole way, once he was about 35 yards away i put the crosshairs right on the middle of the briskut cause he was facing right at me, so i pulled the trigger, he buckled and starting running right at me so i shot twice more hit him right in the lungs and he went down 30 yards away that is the second biggest buck ive ever shot.
