I just finished reading the post, Attacdked by a hawk! Man what a story.
It reminded me of a time when a club member came running down this train leading to the camp, screaming!
When we got the poor man settled, he explained that a buck came into view and before he knew it the dang thing was after him?!
He mannaged to avoid being speared by the 10pt. by rnning behind trees and throwing items at him. He never got a chance to get his gun as he was driven away from it. Long story short, he got away and it freaked the living crap out of him.
I have seen a video where this man purposely placed deer sent on him to test the effectiveness of it and sure enough a big buck came around and started after him. But the crazy man took joy in this and literally wrestled with the deer for some time.
I have also heard other stories and seen supposed scares from deer attackts.
So, I Would like to know if there are any other members out there that have heard stories or have been attacked by deer? And if you know what in the heck prompts a deer to attack?

I have a story similar but yet different. I was rattleing for my dad one morning in the heat of the rut. I was down wind rattling while my dad set up a blind cross wind of me. I rattled and in about 10 min. we had 3 monster bucks starting to face off right in front of where my dad was at. One buck was a twelve point the other was a ten point. A small six point was in the field watching. The ten and twelve point started at each other. My dad was in the path between the two. I couldnt figure out why he wasnt taking a shot. He had a great oppertunity on two great deer. I watched as the two converged on my dads ground blind. The twelve point had actually walkded over my dad almost steping on him. Of course this spoked every one and sent all the deer running. I went over to find out if my dad was O.K.; I figured something had to be wrong for him to pass on bucks like this. I got to him and he told me he had fallen asleep and the big buck woke him up. I didnt see either of those deer the rest of the year.

Burnie,
Thank you for the story! My father will tell this story once in a while when it presents it's self and your story reminded me of it.
When my father was a kid, he was taken on him first hunting trip and told to use this sent, whick back in the older days guys/hunter would take the fluid from the bladders of fallen deer. Intrun using it for attractents.
Any way may father went in the direction that he was told to go and sat down on the base of this huge oak. He then proceeded to put this stuff (buck pee) all over his cloths?
As any kid at that age he mannaged to deal with the foul sent and fell asleep as the snow was lightly falling on him.
He was awoken by a sound and when he opened his eye, while still on the ground, there stood a buck that had craped not 6in. from his face and was urinating in a scape the deer had just made!
crazy story, could you emagine. My father was to scared to move at that time and wathced the deer eventually walk back into the woods.
