I shot the first deer at our camp this morning. I was setting on a short ladderstand under an Oak. I saw her working her way toward me coming out of the creek bottom. With some help from a Screech Owl hoot she stopped at just 6 yards. After i got the lump out of my throte, i got my PSE Coyote recurve up an put a 125gr G5 B-52 through her heart. She ran about 75-80 yards back though some planted pines. She dressed out at 136 pounds. I also managed to connect with two squirells a Diomandback (all with a .22) and a nice 6 pound Largemouth Bass. We're eatin' good in the nieghborhood tonight.

Yeap!! I was down all last season with a busted hip and only got one. But we have lots of activety on our lease and have seen atleast 12 differant deer between four people. Let them get comfortable thinking they are out of range. Rifle season starts the 21st of Oct, and i have a whole box of 150gr Gamekings.

Went out to the lease today and saw 4 deer - a doe, two young'uns, and the tail end of a deer, and saw two turkeys. Man, I wish I had a bow. Bow season starts here in a week, and gun season doesn't start until Nov. 11. You can take fall turkeys, but only with a bow. By next year, I will have a bow, come he** or high water. Congrats on your first deer of the season. I wished I could eat at your house this week.
