Any camera that works is better than nothing. I use a SONY dcrvx2000. All digital, minidisk. Fantastic camera, but at 3200.00 bucks, it hurts. Thank goodness I work for them, so I get a huge discount.

I like my VX2000 too, but hate to carry it with me on these big trips due to the plastic lense, I would hate to scratch it and be stuck holding the bag on a big hunt.

Chris, you are scaring me! I never knew that my vx2000 had a plastic lens? Are you sure about that? I work for sony, but not where the cameras are manufactured. I might have to run home and check this out. How about my trv 720, does it have a plastic lens?

The VX2000 has a plastic lense, but I believe the DCR-TRV's are flourite.

Also forgot, those digital zooms are nothing, they useless for videoing hunts because of the video degredation, for quality footage, turn the digital zoom off and use the analog.
