Mt buddy has an '08 it it isd a fabulous gun for big whitetails. We have both killed several deer with it. With premium bullets you will have no problems out to 300 yds. Just practice shooting at that range.

my brother has an 7m08 and loves it. i have a 308 blr and took an 8 point at 270 yards this past year. short action calibers are awsome!
