RE: Kansas Whitetails/7mm08
The 7mm-08 works for canadian deer so it should work for kansas deer at those ranges.

RE: Kansas Whitetails/7mm08
I'd hate to meet the whitetail that was too big for the 7mm-08. That would be one horrendous drag it I survived the encounter! <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Mash 'em Bro. My trusty Browning BLR could hang with it.

RE: Kansas Whitetails/7mm08
I would use a premium bullet of at least 140 grains. The 7mm08 is 100-200 fps slower than the .280. Nobody would question the .280 for your situation. At what range would the .280 kill the deer and the 7mm08 not? - probably at 471 yards - but I might be off a foot or two.

RE: Kansas Whitetails/7mm08
Even on big deer the 7MM-08 is plenty of gun! The 7MM-08 could just about be as close to the perfect deer caliber there is! Low recoil, flat shooting and just about on the same power level as the other popular deer cartridges.

RE: Kansas Whitetails/7mm08
I purchased one for my son this year and I have killed four animals with it at various distance and would recommend this gun. It has performed flawlessly.
