yea i have one, which i killed my first two deer with, and they are great calibers. i have a savage model 110 270 caliber, and they will get the job done with no problem. like said before they can take any NA game animal, (with good shot placement of couirse) so i love them. i feel very confident, if i can see it, i can shoot it lol (for the most part). since i hunt in WV what i can see i usually can shoot, especially with this gun, good luck with it im sure ull love it

That's what I want to get as well. My brother in law has one and it shoots great. Did you get the short barrel?

I have a .270 WSM that I got 2 summers ago and I love it. I have killed two deer with it using 130 grain bullets. Both went down immedietly. Great choice.

I am a big fan of the .30-06 but then again I havnt shot a deer yet. My brother SWEARS by his .270 And he got his first deer, last season. Maybe if I had a .270, I would have got one too.............................

I really enjoy my .270.It has enough oomph, the recoil is relatively light,it is very accurate. The most important thing is that it is comfortable for you and you know it like you know the back of your hand, how it points, how the trigger breaks, how the action cycles etc.
I hope you find a rifle you really like.

After watching my buddy the last couple of years use his I am impressed. I currently use a browning blr 358 which is big difference. I was going to get a 270 this year but he has me doing some side work for him and I get my 30-06 back I sold him 2-3 years ago. Im so excited to have it back.
