Default Nutrena Record Rack?

My cousin and I bowhunt my dad's 45 acre farm in southern Ohio and we are looking for a good protein/mineral based feed to mix with shelled corn for deer. Last year I purchased some Purina Deer Chow in September but by that time it couldn't produce the results that we wanted. I've been told that Nutrena Record Rack is a good mineral supplement for bigger deer and bigger racks. We are going to start feeding around late March or early April and continue through September. Has anyone used this or have any other suggestions? Any help is appreciated.

Exactly what kind of results are you expecting? Honestly, it's doubtful that you'll even see a difference in the deer. Mineral supplements alone simply won't do it.

The main reason I ask is because we passed up several nice 6 and 8 pointers and we are hoping to give them and the other bucks that appear next season the best opportunity to grow big racks and big bodies. Any suggestions would help. Thanks.

Really, the very best thing you can do is exactly what your already doing, letting them grow up. Most areas around my part of Ohio already have great nutrition with the crops. I would suspect your area should be similar, though I'm not sure. Not sayingminerals don't help a little, but they certainly don't provide the results that the manufacturers like to advertise. Probably the best thing to do to provide additional nutrition would be to plant some food plots, but that requires a lot more money, time, and equipment than mineral supplements.
