Default RE: Do you butcher your own deer

I as I read this forum, I was wondering... if many hunters are taking to processing their own deer (like me), how are the deer kill numbers given by the DNR accurate? I only take the # of deer I have tags for, but I have never reported to the DNR for kill numbers. Therefore, would the DNR consider my tags unfilled? Maybe self processing is a small percentage, but it seems like many more hunters are getting into it. I have unlimited doe permits this year, how will the DNR ever know how many I take? Could this be a reason hunters are not seeing as many deer, but the DNR says the population is to high? Just a thought.
