Fl .... I am sure that the 308 is a great cartridge but I have owned a Rem. model 7 in a 7mm08 for years and loved it. I have taken deer from 100lbs to 350lbs ... I doubt you could go wrong with either but I like the 08 ... I shoot a 139 grain NBT ...

I agree.. The 7mm-08 in the model 7 (I have one)... Is a great flat shooting gun that will flatten a whitetail where it stands.. I shoot winchester XP2 139 grain ballistic tip silvertips and they perform excellent.

You wont go wrong with either one but I have the 7 mm-08 and enjoy shooting it with a mild recoil.

Both are great whitetail rounds, but if you're ever considering chasing something larger than deer, I'd go with the .308. The heavier bullet weight can be an asset sometimes ....

I own both 7mm-08 & .308 and they are both great guns, but given the choice of only one of them, I would take the .308. Either way I don't think you'll go wrong, flipping a coin may be the only answer here.

The .308 Winchester is my personal favorite, and I'd recomend it to anyone! The 7MM-08 could arguably be the best whitetail caliber period! It's flat shooting, low recoil, and plenty of power to spare on deer!
Flip a coin, you can't go wrong with either!
