Wow! tough choice. I have a Remington Varmint Special .308 and love it but have always wanted a 7mm-08. I'll have to agree with most of the others advice, either choice will work on deer size game.

I would really love the 7mm-08 in a Browning Micro Medallion.

I love the 7mm-08. I borrowed a friends a few years ago and loved the results. Dropped a 3 pointer on the spot. Regrettably, I bought a .270. Its a nice round, but I wish I had gotten a 7mm-08.

I'm thinking seriously on the BLR in 7mm-08!

I also hunt with a .308 BLR, and doubt that i'll ever change. Not too heavy, extremely accurate for a lever action, great for stand or still hunting. I could go on and on. I use 150 gr. corelokt for whitetail, which puts them down hard without tearing up the meat, but it's nice to know that if i get to go out west for something larger it won't be a problem.

Oh man I have a decision to make. I was thinking a 280 but now ive heard the 7mm-08 is almost the same and ammo is more available.
