RE: Shotgun States
I understand that some states will let you hunt with a shotgun or a rifle, but it is still not the same. Just for example, Illinois has some of the strictest rules in the country, but we still produce monster after monster. And states like texas are different...with it's wide open ranges. But there is nothing like sitting in the Illinois woods. Cmon people from Illinois, get behing me!!

RE: Shotgun States
If your hoping to be a field warden it shouldn't matter for your own personal preference of what you like to hunt with. You wont have time to hunt anyway , for gun deer season especially. I don't know about most states but around here any warden will tell you ; if you love to hunt and fish alot a field warden is the last job you'll want.
I don't mean to rain on your parade but it's the plain truth. That was my first dream job I pursuedas a youth until I found out the reallity behind it. With gov't cut backs going onin most statesI'd guess that there are experienced wardens out there right now looking for work , I know there are in Wisconsin.
