The feeling is not the same as getting a deer close up with a bow or shotgun and taking it. I'm not saying I'm against rifle hunting, but myself, I will never do it over shotgun or bow hunting.
thats alright, but i think most states that allow rifle hunting allow shotgun too. nobody would force you to use a rifle if you didnt want to.

like steve said, it doesnt sound like a good reason to pick a place to live

Ohio is shotgun. They hire pretty regular too from what i am told. Plenty of new parks and stuff going in all over so they need the rangers.

I gotta ditto on it being a very strange (OK I won't say goofy) reason for choosing a state. As was said, there's nothing to prevent you from using a shotgun (or bow for that matter) during a rifle season. I know a lot of guys in Minnesota, for instance, who never hunt with a rifle even though it's allowed.

Yeah, again, kind of weird decision making here. You don't like rifle hunting, so therefore you won't work in a state that allows it?? Hmmm.

Ohio, only shotguns and muzzle loaders and hand guns. Are gun season is one week long. We have early muzzle loader, Early youth deer gun season, then deer season, then muzzle loader season. And bow season during all of that. www.ohiodnr.com thats the department of natural resources here.
