when i first started deer hunting, i couldnt sleep on stand. i was so afraid of missing a big buck to sleep, i just couldnt do it. 5 years later, i've mastered the art of power napping on standnothing wrong with that at all

did you guys see many deer?

I took a power nap after lunch one day and woke up 15 minutes before a 140 class buck walked into the field and then my freezer

My youngest son had a pretty good youth weekend and even killed a doe on the first day of regular season.

Congrats to you and the boy on that deer. 30-30?


We had a great day anyway together. In fact 15 minutes after I took the oicture of her sleeping in the blind a deer came in at 40 yards from right to left. By the time I woke her up and she was able to ready her rifle the deer was at too much of a quartering away angle for her to feel comfortable with the shot.
It was the only one we saw that day. We did see a few turkey and a beautiful eagle landed on a low branch about 15 feet from the blind.
