Default Scope for a Mossbery 12ga sluggun

I have a Mossbery 12ga (rifled barrel) sluggun and want to get a scope for it.

What would you suggest? Red Dot, etc.

My max shot would probably be 100yds at best. Most shots would be around 75 or less. The land we lease is fairly tight.

I will likely sight it in to be "dead" on at 50yds.

I recommend a straight 4X32mm. I would sight in a couple high at 50 yards, but it really kinda depends on the trajectory of the ammo your are using.

I have an 835 Ulti-mag combo with a Bushnell Sportsman 1.5-4.5x32 (i think) on it, it's great out to 100 yards.

defintely shell out some money for a good scope, because it's going to take a pounding. anything 1-4X in that range is perfect if you're not shooting over 100 yards. On my 870 rifled barrel, i have a Leupold Vari X II 1-4X shotgun scope. it's perfect. I think now its in the VX-II line.

Leupold VX-II 2-7x33 would work very well for that setup.

I have a Bushnell Banner 3 X 9 X 40 on my Mossburg 500. It works great. I also use this scope on my muzzleloader and 30-06. Cost about $90.00 at bass pro or cabelas.

I second that suggestion...have that exact scope on my shotgun...works well.

Any of the better quality low power scopes on the market should work just fine....I put a simmons aetec 2.8 - 10 x44 on mine and it works just fine!
