I love the .270win.
As stated above, I love the flat shooting and no recoil. I also like that you can use 130gr. 140gr or 150gr. That gives ya a bit to play with.
Here in the South, it doesn't take much to blow our deer apart. Although over the past couple of years, there has many an increasing number of 200lb + deer being killed around here.
My cuz uses a 25-06 when compared to my .270, the only difference is the bullet weight.
I've never owned a 30-06, but I think I would have to agree that it is one of the best "all around" loads.
But to answer your question, I would say the .270win. Gives ya no recoil, flat shooting, and agood weight bullet.
