Hey fritobandito8604,
Blonde, Brunette, or Redhead?
Okay, you didn't ask that question.....but you might as well have
!
(Am I a polygamist if I can't be "faithful" to just one caliber?)

The one that you are the most comfortable and confident in shooting, and the one which is large enough to produce clean and humane kills.
For me its a .270, but I think the bullet should NOT be smaller than 6mm.

For me it all depends. Two years ago it was a 300 Win Mag, last year was a 7mm-08 Rem, this year it is a 270 Win. Alot of what i choose to shoot in a given year is how much range time I put in with the particular rifle. The more time I put in the more confidence I have in the rifle but it doesn't really have much to do with the cartridge. In my opinion the best deer cartridges are the 260 Rem, 7mm-08 Rem, 308 Win, 257 Roberts, 25-06 Rem, 6.5x55 Mauser, and 7x57 Mauser . Other cartridge get it done, but I feel the ones I meantion are the best compromise between performance and shootability.

My favorite deer cartridge has to be the .270 Win.I do use other calibers now and then .If I could only have one deer rifle the 270 would win hands down. There are so many great cartridges you really can't say what's the best.
