Treestands for off-season photography ?
What do y'all think about using a tree stand in the off-season to get some wildlife on film? I think it would be legal as long I didn't have any weapons with where I could be mistaken for a poacher, but I would check it out with the GW first.

I'm plannin' on doing it.It'll give me practice usin' my new stand.I don't think the game warden's will have any problems with doing so.As long as you don't have a weapon with you I don't see what they can say.
Good luck and have fun.

As long as you don't have a weapon with you, you can do anything you want - watch em, stalk em, spot em, etc.
If you get a chance, I would recommend cornering a button buck, interogate him to learn all the deer secrets for your hunting area and you will be ready for them next year.
Be sure to hold your breath when hitting the shutter button to avoid gut (photo) shot deer!

You're right Huntress, it would be great practice setting up my stand. That was another reason I want to do it. I just got my first hang-on with climbing sticks, and it's going to take a little practice for sure.

Get a Deer-Cam and it will also help out on the photgraphy photos. Here I talk about scouting, enjoying the outdoors, but during the summer it is just to hot! Plus we have Boone and Crockett mosquitos.

I confess.
I'm really just looking for an excuse to spend time in the woods playing with my treestand during the off-season.
