WY Region G deer tag...Help!
After five years of unsuccessful applications, I finally drew Region G in Wyoming. Oregon's trophy quality is poor, so we're hoping to shoot our first bucks in eight years. I'm looking for helpful suggestions.
Here's the situation: My dad and I are going to be there two days before the season opens, then hunt on horseback for the first 9 days of the season. Trouble is, everyone tells me that there are too many guys and too many outfitters around. We're both looking for trophies, and aren't afraid to put the effort in to avoid the masses. We hunt hard.
I may be able to get a scouting trip in, but I'd love to hear your suggestions as a starting place...where should we head off the grey's river road to get open (glassable) mountainsides with fewer people? Know any good spots? Thanks for your help!
BTW, I'm new to the forums, and I'm enjoing this place so far. Finally, a place to get my muley fix!

Oh, and I know I haven't earned the right to ask for specific hot spots...just any suggestions would be helpful. You can email me directly at the church at [email protected] if you don't want to post here.
