We can only take does with the deperdation permits. Trust me, I will be doing some scouting as well. I know this property has some big bucks on it. It hasn't been hunted(legally) in 15 years. I am excited just to get me M/L out and put on some camos!!!!

Maybe you can help me out here. I am coming to Ohio to hunt public land in November with some freinds. It is bow season, but what will the pressure be like? I don't want to go and find a hunter behind every bush. It is some old coal mining land that has been given to the state near Athens. Do you have any idea whatI can expect in the way of too many hunters on public land?

Manuman-
It all depends on who knows about this particular piece of property. I will tell you that I went to school at Ohio U. which is in Athens. There are alot of deer in this area. Matter of fact, the SE part of Ohio, IMO, is the best. Chances are you will be fine. Depending on when you come to hunt, the rut still may be in effect. If that is the case, you will see plenty of deer. I think you will be pleasantly surprised to see the amount of deer you will see.

We are coming the 9th, soI assume the rut is stiill in swing if not coming to a peak.We will be there for a week and there's a possibility of a couple of 200 acre farms being available as well. Any way,
thanks for the feedback. It's helpful and appreciated.

You will be right in the middle of the rut!!! That is excellent timing. I shot a buck last year on Nov. 12th, and he was chasing a doe. The deer will definitely be rutting at that time. You should see MANY MANY deer. Good luck!!!
