i personally like the viper x4.
Ditto!! I have a Summit Viper X4 and love it! It is the lightest, strongest, easiest to carry, climber that I have found.

By far the best stands on the market are Lone Wolf Stands. Second would be Ol'Man. Summits are nice too.

For sleeping and spending all day in the woods - hands down it's the tree lounge, big heavy and OMFG awesome to sit in. I easily have lost 5 deer due to being asleep up there.

For serious killing I like the Loggy Bayou - portable, easy to climb with and safe.

For ease and comfort I have 2 ladders set up pre season

Zoomer, I agree with you on the tree lounge, but I have 2 of the older
models. Don't like the new models. Mr Bob Hice has bought back the
company and hope he will go back to the old design.

I bought a Doghouse ground blind, I'm too old to be climbin' trees, and I can sleep inside without worryin' if I'll fall out.

RH,
I agree with you on the comfort of the Tree LOunge, but I need to lift weights prior to the season to be able to carry the da-- thing! And coming down in a Tree Lounge is an Hand-pinching, drawn out, slow a-- process. But they are good for a nap and hands down the sturdiest stand out there.

SwampMan, have you seen any old models. They weigh more than the new ones.
I have the deer stand installed, but I have the spoke wheels on it, plus the hunting
acc. bag loaded, the pad and pillow, the tree umprella and my rifle and ammo.
I pull it , not carry it. I have been doing it for over 10yrs and never had a pinched
finger or any problems with it. I took off the speed knobs and replaced them
with large ss wing nuts and secured the studs with ss washers so the would'nt
pull out. OH! I also replaced the 5/16 studs with ss studs. I have two of them.
The new ones are not as stong as the old ones.

I took off all the fabric and etched them with Muradic Acid and bought the camo
spray kit, they look great.

I have used the old ones and they are extremely safe, noisy to get up and down a tree. I tired the new pre-HICE model and it almost killed me , I believe they have been redesinged since he took over. I now have one Old treelounge, a Buckshot centreshot and the Ol man multivision. All are great stands
