blueking4, I am new to the forums, but saw your question. You might want to contact your local DNR (fish and game dept.) because quite a few of them have laws regulating the use of private property for recreational purposes such as hiking, hunting, fishing, etc... They wrote these into the game laws to protect all landowners from lawsuits by people recreating on their properties so that landowners would be more willing to let people use their land for "permission only" hunting and such. I know for a fact wisconsin has this law and even though you might want to have something in writing it is always a plus to to explain this to a landowner for piece of mind. hope this info helps.
