WY area 42 or 24 antelope help
Anybody know anything about Antelope hunting in Wyoming in area 42 or area 24. My hunting partner and myself are looking at applying. The odds of drawing look like a sure thing. Does anyone know how much of the hunting in these areas are on public land, or would we need to hunt private land. We are'nt in for a trophy hunt, (I would'nt know a trophy antelope if I saw one), just an excuse to hunt. We plan on making a scouting trip this summer but any info would be great.

RE: WY area 42 or 24 antelope help
hi,
sorta surprised when i looked in the reg book at the map, and saw that these areas are so far apart. figured you had centered on a particular area. 42, never been around there, so i cant help. 24...tons and tons of private land. hope ya got a place lined out. there are some monster goats there if ya do. if you are looking public, i think i would look elsewhere, maybe 62 or 48 near rawlins. i dont know what draw odds are for non resident there, but plenty of goats, and lots of public land. area 5 is awesome, but drawing for a non resident is nearly impossible. i think there are some decent public tracts in area 6, maybe that would be good with higher draw odds. that area just northwest of casper, i cant remember the number, has plenty of public, but if ya hunt there, i hope its with a rifle, flat and desolate land. hope this helps, if ya need anything, holler

New Plan! After some more reseach and a chat with Carter's Hunter Services it looks like area 64 and if we don't draw we'll grab a NewMexico landowner tag and fly to Albuquerque. Anybody know anything about 64?
