Question About Montana Hunting
Is there a 4 point restriction on Montana Mule Deer?? I' ve been reading the regs and they mentioned it on Page 18/19 but that section appears to be only for " Restitution for illegally taken wildlife" . Can anyone shed (No pun intended) some light on it??

RE: Question About Montana Hunting
from what i have read the restitution section referrs to the fines associated with game taken illegally. the fines get higher based on weather the animal is considered a trophy ...which, for a typical mulie would be a 4 point with a spread of certain number of inches.
i hunt in MT every year and haven' t heard of any 4 point restrictions. be careful, in some areas there very well might be restrictions. you have to look up the area you hunt specifically.

RE: Question About Montana Hunting
Iron Ranger, as Jroot mentioned, that only applies to fines in shooting a trophy mulie of that size, that is on page 19, you have to read page 18, as it continues on pg. 19. Each hunting district has there own rules and regs, I hunt several different districts and am only aloud one deer, depending on the district you hunt and each has there own set of regs, some places have an abundance of deer and you can get drawn for " B" tags or you can get, " Over the counter tags" for a certain district, if that place hasn' t filled its quota. I suggest to cheque with what district your hunting and do some homework prior to hunting out here. Just one more thing, mule deer hunting is terrible out here, I suggest going to Wyoming. Bobby
