Idaho Hunter Ed and Bowhunting Ed
I am going to hunt idaho this year for Elk with a bow and I am a resident of washington. I have been bowhunting in Washington for about 12 years. Is this rule that you have to have the classes only if you were born after 1975, or does it apply for anyone regardless of experience, that wants to bowhunt in idaho.
Your input is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure on this but I think if you have had an archery permit anywhere then you can get one in Idaho. You can call fish and game and they will tell you for sure. You have picked a good state to hunt in unless you are looking for a world record or something. There are a lot of elk around but not to many above the 350 mark. I have seen a couple but very few. Where about are you going to be. I hunt the central part of the state. You can see some of the bulls we've taken out of my area at www.elknut.com go to the photo gallery. I'm Paul II if your wondering.

brianb Just curious as to as to where you decided to hunt here in Idaho. As far as your question, I remember years ago when I moved here from CA I did not need to take a hunters or bowhunters education class again. How many days will you be hunting and what time of the month of sept. are you starting. elknut1.
