I hear you Robb. My wife is still trying to convince me that Germany should be her next duty station for the Army. She said that it would be good for the kids to experience other cultures, see other parts of the world, and learn a new language while they are still young. I told her in no uncertain terms that if she wanted to go bad enough, me and the kids would be waiting stateside when she got back. That conversation has slowed down dramatically. There are lots of places that I would love to visit for a couple of weeks or even months, but I don't want to LIVE in any of them for 3 years.<img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle>

Hey All....Whew....!!!!...I made it back.. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> The last couple of day's my puter was down....got a major virus, that really screwed me up....Diane spent most of the day with a Dell tech......and got everything cleaned up....and everything re-installed....Where in the &quot;H*LL was my Norton Virus Detateor at..??....think I may be looking for a different brand.. :(...Other that that...thing's are &quot;GREAT&quot;.....lol

Coming into work 0400 sucks and I have been doing it since mid june. It is time to give it up.

Robb what would you cross train into?

Slee, Ozette has a campground, fishing, hiking, etc...but the really cool part is if you hike down to the ocean, which is about three miles, there are petroglyphs that are right on the edge of the water. You have to time it for low tide, but they are well worth seeing. After you get to the beach it is another mile to mile and a half walking south or north depending on the trail you hike in on. You will see deer on the beach with racks that will just make your mouth water--but it is all national park--the time we hiked in we saw a black bear sitting on the trail...all of it very cool. You can also camp on the beach where they have sites set up, but you don't have to camp at the prefab sites.

I WAS LOOKING INTO CROSS TRAINING INTO THE WEAPONS INTRUCTOR, THEY TRAIN YOU ON HOW TO DISASSEMLBE AND REASSEMBLE THE M-16 AND THE M-9 AND ANY OTHER TYPES. THEY DON'T DEPLOY ANYWHERE AND ITS PRETTY MUCH A CONTROLLED TOUR.

Went out in the woods for a while today. Ended up seeing 8 or 9 cows and a calf. No bulls, but come Sept. they won't be far away. I'll head back to check things out week after next. Lots of tracks, and found at least 2 different herds. The next time I'm out there will be bear season, so maybe I can locate a juicy berry patch while I'm scouting.

Hey Robb....How's the pup doing..???...Think I might of screwed up alittle with mine...went out with the .22 with blank's....like I alway's do....had the wife about 40 yd's away with the pup....giving him some treat's, while I fire off a couple of round's...have done this many time's and it's never bothered him....but this time when I fired the first shot, he came running to me.....just as I was pulling back the trigger for the second shot....by that time he was only about 5 feet from me.........and the dang shot scarred him.....now I got my work cut out for me... :(....Also...I put a wheel together with 100 spot's.....have 99 of em with the word &quot;Crap&quot; by em.....the other 1....I have the word &quot;Fair&quot;....when ever I say...&quot;I wounder what the weather's like where Robb's at....I just spin the wheel... <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I agree that would be awesome. If you confirm that soon, I would love to--if you would have time--to set up a get together for as many people as could come at some state park or other for a bbq or coffee or something, just to meet some of you all.

Hello all,

Been awhile since I have beeen on here, but with work and chores I have been busy busy.

Right now I am writing from Pueblo, Colorado and if you think the weather is hot out there, you wouldn't want to be here!!!

I had a great scouting trip around the middle of June, saw five legal bulls within about a half mile radius. Two four pointers and 3 three pointers. Looks like it is going to be a good year on the west side for bulls. Also, we saw two other four points in another area a couple weeks before that.

I am planning a scouting trip in Aug, since I can kill a bear on the private land I hunt. Also the land owner has a tree about a hundred yards from his house that has been scratched all most all the way around- five feet high by a big cougar.

I am looking forward to the seasons real bad, I have the fever!!

I can't check on my permits till I get back the 30th but am wanting to know if I was drawn.

Take it easy all and will write again whe I get back home..

One of the things that really bug me about WA hunting policies is this &quot;choose your weapon to hunt&quot; thing we have. Being a military brat, and then joining myself, I was fortunate enough to hunt in a bunch of different states w/out having to pay for out of state liscenses:). I don't remember anywhere that says if you hunt w/a bow, you can't hunt w/modern or visa versa. What is the thought behind it? I choose the modern firearm path, but I dearly miss my bow - what do ya'all use, and what do you think about this either or regulation?

WANWTF, you can hunt with both you just cant FILL with both.
i know guys that buy their bow for the trophy, if they dont fill, then they buy their modern and continue.
i agree though, i would like to see an animal per weapon, black, modern, bow. if a guy is will to pay for the licences..then why not?

Wait a minute Nascar... are you saying you can purchase a bow liscense and if you don't fill it - fill it with modern? Or do you have to then purchase a modern? That isn't how I understood the regulations at all.

I was under the impression that if you choose bow and don't fill it, that is the breaks - Could you or anyone else elaborate? I've been home now for 7 years, and if that is the case, I'm gonna kick myself hard.

if you dont fill with bow, then the bow licence is dead, you then need to buy a modern firearm, and go from there... add in a blackpowder where it fits.
thats the way i understand it and have seen and known guys that have done it their whole lives.... i dont know if they are skirting the system, but they have done it for years.

Just spoke with the Mill Creek office of Fish and Wildlife because I found the buy a new tag for each season difficult to swallow for what I understood the regs to say.

The Mill Creek office says:

This is a fight that I would love to get involved in. Because I have always thought that was one of the most stupid liscensing things I have seen. I have always thought that if you don't fill your early hi modern, you should be able to go buy an archery if you want too. But that is only if you don't fill the one tag. And I do think it is reasonable to have to pay for additional tags if you don't fill the one you bought before.
