Kaibab Plateau!

RE: Kaibab Plateau!
I have hunted North Kaibab for several years. I took a 5 X 5 Muley there in 1993 that scored 184 1/8 with my bow. I think you will find deer location is determined by water and feed. I have seen years when there was lots of rain, a lot of deer were up high in the Jacob Lake area. Other years, with little rain and feed, the bulk of the deer were farther south near the North rim of the Grand Canyon. In those years they tend to stick to the deeper canyons where there are a few more water pockets and possibly it is a little cooler for them. It is big country. I have always seen fewer deer there than some other places I have hunted, but I have also seen much bigger deer than anywhere else I have hunted. So, I think it is a pretty good tradeoff.
