Default Pronghorn Hunt for 2008

I am looking to go pronghorn hunting in 2008. I need to know where to start looking. Is it a hunt that DIY is a good option or is an outfitter a better option. If outfitter is needed, any suggestions? Never done it before, so any info is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Mike

I am going on my first antelope hunt this fall so I dont know alot yet, but I think it depends on what kind of goat you are looking for.. I think if you want a 1 time hunt for a big goat then it would be worth the 1500 or 2000 you may have to pay for a big hunt.. Now that we are getting closer and looking at the area we got and the pressure in our area I am rethinking my decision.. I like to do things on my own but didnt really look hard into it like I should have.. Whatever you decide make sure like anything if you want good results do your homework well ahead of time.. My dad and brother are going out this fall also and payed the extra 200 dollars to get a better area than we did because we were trying to save some money but now I wish I would have spent the extra 200 and got a better area..I will let you know how we do and what we learn and maybe something I can learn out thier will help you out some... I have about 100 brochures from different guides and outfitters here at the house.. PM me if you want and I will send them out to you and it may help with your decision.. If you decide to go with a outfitter you are going to want to book a hunt now to get you a better time and to get into a outfitter before they fill up for the 08 season...

Are you wanting to archery hunt or rifle? Rifle hunts for goats are fairly easy to have a succesful hunt without much expericance. The most difficult part of the hunt will be finding somewhere to hunt. Archery hunts i would suggest going with a outfitter. Finding a good waterhole for a blind takesalot ofscouting and could be difficultif your not from the area.
