Where to Hunt in Idaho? Looking for suggestions.
I realize that nobody likes to give away there honey hole or Elk Haven, however I am asking for a little guidance. I am a resident from Washington State and I am looking to go Bowhunting for the first time in Idaho next fall. I have been Bow Hunting in Washington for the last 12 years and looking for a change of scenery.
There are so many units for Elk in Idaho I have no idea where to begin. Someone had mentioned Elk City, I guess because of the name. Can any one offer me any educated opinions?
It would be greatly appreciated!

What is it with folks that live in Washington and hunt out of state? I know when I'm out bowhunting, their's more Washington plates than any other here in Idaho. Is it you don't have many elk or what. All I can tell you about Elk city is theirs more people than elk during hunting season. If I were you I'd check with fish&game about areas your interested in. Ask about bull to cow ratios, access for roads, trails, do I need horses. Get topo maps of best areas and do scouting from home. Remember too temperatures can get around 10-15deg. during bow season, so make sure you're equipped for it. GOOD LUCK. ELKNUT1
