Default What is up with Wyoming's party permits?

does it hurt your chances of drawing? The dilema is I have 5 friends that want to hunt therenext year and we don't know if we should apply in pairs or as a party and get the special (more expensive)license? We have an 85% chance of drawing with the more expensive permits but does that go out the window when applying as a party? Should each of the hunters make there 2nd choice the same if using the group permit?

thanks in advance

Default RE: What is up with Wyoming's party permits?

I would explain it, but the Wyoming Game and Fish website already has this question answered under their FAQ's. Here ya be:

Q. Does applying as a party hurt my chances to draw?
A. A party application has exactly the same chance as being drawn for licenses as does an individual. That is...a party application has one chance in the drawing, the same as an individual application. There is also a provision in the drawing to exceed the quota by the number of licenses needed to accomodate the party. For example, if there was only one license remaining on the quota and your party of three was selected, the quota would simply be exceeded by two and all would receive licenses.
