RE: Flocking
I've heard that you have to use a wire brush drill bit to prep the surface and get all oils off. Then just apply the flocking.
Something I'm going to try which is cheaper and I've heard lasts longer is to use glue and very fine saw dust, let dry and paint with gloss paint. Hear it's great.

RE: Flocking
Here is how we do our.
We buy our flocking from Donjer.com. Paint the head around the white with Flat Balck Rustolem. I then put the head in a covered Rubbermail tub that already has the flocking in the tub. then I shake the head for a bit and TADA....you have a flocked head. The flocking may not be as good as from the factory but then the next year do it again and the second coat makes them rock solid.
