Dog Shock Collars????? Please help
I was just wondering if you guys have ever used a collar and if you had good results?
I currently have a 4 1/2 year old Choc Lab and it is so hard headed its not funny and i am out of options on what to do.
I have never hunted with a dog or any one who has had one.
So i would like to get mine trained and get him ready for Sept 1st
His name is DELTA aka D if anyone really cares
P.S. Any information and feedback would be nice

They are a good tool to help in training if used correctly and can ruin a dog if used incorrectly. You might be off to contact a pro to help in the training, at least get with some folks who have experience in training dogs from some of the local retriever clubs.

Best money ever spent on a dog IMO is with a reputable professional trainer. Toward the end of training the trainer should show you how to properly use a collar when you take the dog back home. A good trainer will let you observe how he is training your dog so you can reinforce it later.

I use the Flyway Special It is a great tool in the proper hands. I agree that you should find a retriever club in your area alot of them have training days that you can join in. Where do you live? Collar conditioning is the most important part take baby steps. Also I would do a lot of yard work heel, sit, stay, come etc.
