Wow, learning alot already thanks guys.

I heard something about a J- formation for the dekes? also i reamember reading in hunting mags about those pull strings? are they nessicary? also when hunting without a call but with decoys what is the best way? do you hope for the best or will they see the deks and come in? Also do you think its nessicary to wrap the gun?

Does anyone know any good places to hunt in North Jersey? we are in the Mount Olive portion or morris county and would love to get some good hunting in. Also what kind of ducks can i expect to get in N. Jersey?

Sorry for all of these questions just trying to sort it all out. I`ll prolly have a hundred more but im tryin lol. Thanks a ton guys, already i have learned more than i thought i would.

I've been duck hunting for a few years now and still consider myself a noob. I'm learning a lot here though. To be honest, I totally suck at duck hunting. Some guys shoot their limit every time they go hunting. I'm lucky if I get one or two every season. I really just like going and sitting outside at the lake. I have a big camoflage fold out chair and I set my propane heater under it. I sit there and pass out most of the time. Everything these guys are saying is true. Ducks are skittish as hell. They circle and circle and you want to shoot at them but just be patient! Also, one problem I have is I jump up and just start blasting. Take enough time to aim your gun. Most of my hits are just pure luck. Matt
