Teal limits anybody?
Got my four (blue wings) this morning the hard way. Flooded rice out near Eagle Lake and the doggone fog didn't lift until at least 9:30. We could hear them over us but we couldn't see them. No wind and it got hot quick. Eight breasties going on the grill this evening!

Ohio's teal and early goose season is over now sept. 1 - 9 and 1 - 15 . I had poor luck ,Teal I killed my limit (4) the first 2 days and 2 odd birds other days . No wind and warm weather ,no birds were pushed down
Geese I killed 1 the first day ,5 sept 9 and 2 the sept 14 . The birds moved poorly after the first day ,no wind ,no clouds and a 3/4 moon so they could fly at night. I know 8 geese sounds good but other years I killed 20+ in those 15 days

I guess I didn't realize other states had an early Teal season. Do you see a mixed bag of ducks or is it mostly Teal? Mostly Blue Wings I would assume? We have an early Goose season in MN but the Duck season starts next weekend.

Suprisingly we saw 2 pintail, but mostly teal (bluewing). there were a couple motteled ducks (summer mallards). We also had a group of 6 woodies land on our pond but really thaey were most likely locals. the pintail that we saw looked alot like mexican sqealers because they weren't in full plumage just yet... they were a maroon color but it seemed like the pintail was longer than usual..
