Congrats on a better opener than mine! Put one down this morning and got cut off this evening by other hunters. Trying new spot in the am so hopefully we pound em. Good luck!

I to was off to a half decent start this morning with 2 geese but the evening hunt wasn't all that great. We had a couple flocks fly above us but they were out of range and not responding to any calls. I will be out trying again Saturday morning..

Went for the evening feed and the geese dropped in on the far end of the field too near homes. Frustrating but not nearly as frustrating as the eight guys that appeared from all corners of the field at sunset. Dad collected two, one tagged. Son and I held our fire on the pass overs because the line of the shot was not safe. We'll get ours on Saturday AM before soccer.

Well the second day started out lots better than opener with a nice flock of about 20 working our calls and setting wings, at 40 yards out they suddenly flared and booked outta there. We were dumbfounded as to why, but when we all sat up an older lady was standing about 15 yards behind us and watching what was going on. We all just stared at her wondering what she was doing, she just said "that was wierd, I wondered what was going on, maybe I scared them", and walked off with no other reasonable conversation!!![:@][:@][:@][:@][:@] Ended up working a few more birds and tagging one of them. Good luck to everyone.

Saturday mornings hunt was our best yet, but still not doing good. It was so foggy that we couldnt hardly see all our dekes, had birds come by close but never saw them. Finally got a flock to come in and work for us as it swung around over the fencerow seperating 2 fields another group of guys hunting the next field took five down, and we got cleanup on one bird. Called in a flock at 10 once the fog started lifting and a pair seperated and committed so we took those before anything bad could happen, two in hand is better than 40 at 60 yards with you left wondering what the heck to do. Hope everyone else did better.
